“The healthcare world is truly exploding in terms of data migration and getting their mountains of imaging, patient data, etc. into the digital space. Though we’ve had the extra security measures and procedures in place, we are thrilled to have the official attestation of HIPAA compliancy so that our company can be a bigger part of the massive growth happening in that sector,” said Shawn Mills, President of Green House Data.
Green House Data went through a rigorous and lengthy procedure process to ensure that each of the administrative, physical and technical safeguards were in place to allow their healthcare industry customers to safely fulfill the integrity and confidentiality requirements that protect their patients’ electronic protected health information (ePHI) to the fullest measures.
“With Green House Data receiving this compliance, we know that our disaster recovery services are rock solid. In addition to the confidence we feel in the company's security standards, we are also assured that our patients’ information is being properly protected with controls in place to meet the highest in regulatory standards,” said Hank Googe, IT Manager for Premier Bone and Joint Centers.
HIPAA compliance adds to Green House Data’s current list of certifications. Its data center maintains SSAE 16, Type II, SOC 1 audit compliance and the data center has all the regulatory policies and procedures in place so that their customers are able to achieve the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance.
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) was enacted in 1996 as a way of setting national security standards for the flow of digital information in the health care industry. These standards are meant to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the industry, especially as our world becomes increasingly more mobile and digital.
