B Corporation Celebration in Portland

Company sponsors B Inspired talks, street festival to promote business as a force for good

CHEYENNE, WY – October 12, 2015 – Green House Data, a national provider of data center and cloud hosting services by 100% renewable energy, will sponsor and attend the upcoming B Inspired events in downtown Portland, a celebration of the growing B Corporation movement to hold businesses accountable to standards of environmental commitment, community involvement, and transparency.

B Inspired will be held on October 15, 2015, consisting of a series of inspirational talks followed by a public street festival and concert. Speakers include Perry Chen, founder of Kickstarter, Wendy Collie, CEO of New Seasons Markets, and other leaders of the B Corp community, while the festival in Pioneer Courthouse Square will feature exhibitors like Ben & Jerry’s and New Belgium Brewing offering samples from booths promoting corporate sustainability and responsibility.

“Green House Data has been a B Corp for two years and we are eager to spread the message and the mission,” said Shawn Mills, CEO. “The B Inspired events bring a public spotlight to these innovative companies embracing a better way of doing business.”

Green House Data is the first B Corp in the State of Wyoming and its charter supports many of the ideals championed by the movement, including transparent business practices, fair treatment of employees, volunteering, and a strong commitment to sustainability.

The company was also recently recognized as one of the Top 30 Tech and Telecom Green Power Users by the Environmental Protection Agency, standing apart from an industry that has come under fire by Greenpeace and others for environmentally insensitive practices and massive power use.
