Shawn Mills Speaks at "Building the Data Center of the Future" Event
CHEYENNE, Wyoming (4/26/10) – Green House Data has been selected as a featured speaker at “Building The Data Center of the Future,” a symposium sponsored by the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This year’s event will focus on improving data center facilities’ ability to provide high-performance computing in a fault-tolerant, scalable and energy efficient manner.
Green House Data will highlight its ability to absorb the renewable energy power premium price through its energy-efficiency investments, all while maintaining a high level of support and low cost for its data center hosted clients from around the country.
“Sharing our experience building a highly energy-efficient data center that is powered entirely through wind energy will help the entire industry discover ways to lower energy utilization,” said Shawn Mills, Green House Data President. “We are pleased to be counted among the industry experts improving reliability and scalability and reducing environmental impact.”
The conference, to be held June 23-24 at the I-Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, Illinois, also will feature representatives from the National Center for Atmospheric Research, IBM, Microsoft, Yahoo!, and HP Critical Facilities Services, delivered by EYP MCF.
“Facilities dedicated to high-performance computing, networking and data storage present unique challenges,” says John Melchi, Administration Director at NCSA. “How are these facilities evolving to meet the need for greater capacity while mitigating environmental impact? What innovative solutions are ensuring that these environments are fault-tolerant, flexible, scalable, easy to maintain, and cost-effective? This event is designed to address those questions by sharing experiences and expertise.”
