New Belgium Brewing Selects Green House Data's Cloud Hosting
CHEYENNE, WY, (1/20/11) - Green House Data announced today that New Belgium Brewing has recently selected the Green House Cloud to host all their web services. Green House Data’s wind powered data center and cloud hosting services are a perfect match for the Ft. Collins, CO brewery, most famous for their Fat Tire Amber Ale. The two companies combine similarly aligned sustainability and environmental practices with industry leading products: great beer and a robust computing environment.
“We chose Green House Data for two reasons, their cloud computing platform’s flexibility and the company’s commitment to being environmentally friendly,” stated Jess Askey, Web Developer. “Green House Data gives us the ability to 'turn up the volume' on our cloud web servers to meet fluctuating traffic demands and make the experience for our customers as positive as possible.”
The Green House Cloud platform provides the ability to give a very finely tuned cloud hosting environment. With cloud computing, customers benefit from a computing environment that can handle extreme variations in web traffic. In New Belgium’s case, spikes associated with their creative marketing campaigns, beer seasons, and new beer releases.
“As a green data center offering cloud hosting services, it is very gratifying to be able to meet the needs of companies like New Belgium: a highly reliable data center solution with an excellent ROI from an eco-friendly facility,” remarked Shawn Mills, president at Green House Data. “We are pleased to see companies with such a strong sustainable business model partner with us for their technology needs.”
Centrally located in the Rocky Mountain Region, the Green House data center offers cloud hosting, managed hosting and colocation services from a 100% renewable energy powered data center that runs 40% more efficiently than traditional data centers. Additionally, the technology powering cloud hosting offers a greener more affordable option to IT infrastructure since servers can be consolidated at a 10:1 ratio. For every 1 server moved into a cloud environment, 4 tons of CO2 emissions are removed for the air each year. That is equal to taking approximately 1.5 cars off the road.
